The nation is still struggling to regain its composure in the wake of bizarre terrorist attacks in which an undisclosed amount of hallucinogenic drugs were released in the water supply.
The attacks, now known as Psychedelic Sunday, are said to have cost the Australian economy billions of dollars in lost productivity but the full cost of this unprecedented disruption could take months to calculate. While life in a post Psychedelic Sunday Australia has returned to relative normalcy, many residents are still coming to terms with the psychological upheavals associated with involuntary ingestion of psychedelics.
Speaking at a recent press conference Prime Minister Goshwel Jeperfuk who was overseas at the time of the attacks says ‘We cannot let the terrorists win, we will not let this sudden outburst of empathy destroy the Australian way of life”. The opposition leader however has positioned himself to take advantage of the changing sentiment of the Australian people, offering a radical overhaul of the conservative policies that have defined Australian politics for generations. “I was attracted to political activism initially because it afforded me the belief that I could change the world without having to deal with often painful process of changing myself”, he recently announced at a press conference. “I believe the Australian people deserve real change and real change cannot come by political means, I therefore feel it is my duty as leader of the Opposition Party to take leave and undergo ten days of Vibpassna meditation in a Goan Monestary, where we attempt to align our minds with the Supreme Dream. The majority of Federal Ministers will be accompanying me on this exciting journey inwards and onwards”
How this new approach will play out in the polls remains to be seen.
